Shown on the property details under the title “Other information” it says “Once home to the Cabbagetown Boxing Club’,later Cabbagetown Youth Centre”. FYI The Cabbagetown Boxing Club still occupies the second floor and is part of the Cabbagetown Youth Centre Inc. The Boxing Club was founded in March of 1972 and preceded the Youth Centre which was incorporated in approx.1980.The boxing club has been in continuous operation since its founding. The club has produced over its history numerous champions in both amateur and professional boxing.
As indicated in the title “Original occupant..Garage”. The site was a garage, (circa 1923) that possibly produced a line of cars. Remnants of those cars were found on the first floor of the building when the boxing club took over the old vacated building. The garage was listed in the Ontario Motor League magazine of that time period.
