SUMMARY:Cabbagetown Garden Tour 2016
DESCRIPTION:Expert Gardeners: Marjorie Harris and six Toronto Master Gardeners \nOur Hidden Gardens & Private Spaces tour in Cabbagetown is celebrating its TENTH ANNIVERSARY on Sunday June 5\, 2016. This tour has continued to draw people from all across the GTA and beyond. The attraction for many is not only the unique and charming gardens found here but also the historic streets\, charming laneways\, and Victorian architecture\, from modest to grand. \nGardeners often say “A garden is never finished.”  Ten years later\, some of the gardens from our first year will be back to demonstrate how they have evolved. In addition\, there will be many new hidden gardens you would otherwise never see. \nAnother feature of this year’s tour includes the ever popular and dramatic 6\,000 square foot private roof garden atop the Hugh Garner Co-op on Ontario Street. For those who haven’t seen it\, this is not to be missed.  For those who have\, you’ll want to show it to your friends. The award-winning project designed by architect Monica Kuhn not only provides panoramic views of the city in all directions\, but also is a magical oasis with mature plantings\, walkways\, picnic areas and places for quiet contemplation. \nThe Cabbagetown Preservation Association\, a not-for-profit association of volunteers\, works diligently to support Cabbagetown’s architectural integrity and historic awareness. This event supports these efforts. \nThe Cabbagetown Preservation Association information booth will be located at 89 Winchester Street on the day of the tour. \nVisit the booth to get more information on the tour or on CPA activities such as the Cabbagetown People Program\, the Streetscapes in Bloom Award\, the Peggy Kurtin Award Program or to buy tea towels\, t-shirts\, posters\, other CPA merchandise or renew your CPA membership. \nThe ticket is a booklet that provides you with a description of the gardens as well as information on how to access them. It includes a map and also contains special offers from local businesses. \nTICKETS $15: \nBuy your tickets in person at any of the following retailers: \n\nMi Casa\, 238 Carlton St. 416-929-1913\nJAY’S Garden Centre\, 360 Gerrard St. 416-927-9949\nSheridan Nurseries\, 2827 Yonge St. 416-481-6429\nFairway Garden Centre\, 520 Parliament St. 416-921-0624\nThe Epicure Shop\, 473 Parliament St. 416-928-0291\nKay & Young Florist\, 136 Avenue Road 416-922-5651\nKendall & CO Interior Décor & Design\, 514 Parliament St. 416-363-9914\nRinge Florist\, Scotia Plaza\, 40 King St W.
