This public meeting will provide updates on the CPA’s activities, annual reports, and introduce board nominations. They’ll also announce the Peggy Kurtin Award for Excellence in Restoration!
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
After the business portion, don’t miss their featured speaker, Gilles Huot. Gilles is a CPA Board member, and will be presenting on “Parliament Street Then, Now, and Tomorrow.”
Parliament Street Then, Now, and Tomorrow
We all know and feel that our main street, Parliament Street, is at a crossroads. For a few years now, Gilles has been actively involved in issues related to its intensification. He has closely monitored the development of building proposals that could significantly alter Cabbagetown’s character.
He also collaborated with our HCD committee in identifying heritage buildings on Parliament Street that should be protected. His presentation will be both historical and factual, examining potential preservation efforts, key threats, challenges and risks, and proposing some possible solutions.
We will not resolve issues at the meeting but the idea is to start the conversation on issues that will have important consequences for our community.
